MESH TAG
Collaborative Urban Embroidery
2026 — ongoing
MeshTag is a collective urban activation through large-scale embroidery, using textiles as a medium and the city as our canvas.
The project explores what happens when we take embroidery out of its intimate, indoor scale and bring it into urban space. Through collective embroidery, ordinary structures such as fences become places to meet, create and leave a trace.
We transform fences and surfaces of separation into places for encounter and collective creation, where people, materials and stories can connect.
Project by Denise Weber and Javiera González Zarzar.
Developed as part of ABC Incuba 2026, a program by Sorora e.V.
Funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
In collaboration with Xochicuicatl e.V.
THE BODY AS TERRITORY
Spore Initiative
Coordinated by Georgina Espasa & Magdalena Wiener
2026 - ongoing
A collective textile project exploring the bodies of migrant women and their relationship to the territories they inhabit, both in their places of origin and in Berlin.
Through diverse textile practices, each of us focused on an organ of the body, mapping our bodies, experiences, and memories. Together, we create a collective body map that brings our individual experiences into relation with one another.
The project will be exhibited at Spore, end of 2026.

THE LAST CARRIER
by Heba Y. Amin
Embroidery collaboration
2026
The Last Carrier examines how historical images shape who is seen, who is excluded, and whose perspective becomes authoritative.
Drawing on an early 18th century European depiction of the Egyptian Mahmal procession to Makkah, the work reinterprets the image through a 440 × 180 cm textile composed of screen print, embroidery, and textile fragments on cotton and linen.
Together with Stefanija Pejchinovska (Damaja), I contributed the hand embroidery as part of the team behind Heba’s work.
On view August–October 2026 at King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

2025
The Garden of Care was a transnational collective exchange bringing together women from diverse cultural backgrounds, organizations, and collectives across Berlin. The project explored the connections between women, health, and justice through textile practices.
Developed through workshops and collaborative activities, the project brought together medicinal plants and personal memories through embroidery to create a collective textile garden.
Exhibition presented at Spore as part of How The Soil Remembers, the second chapter of Welto and the Sacred Bush.
January - May 2026.
MAPA TEXTIL
Textile residency
Valle Sagrado de los Incas, Cusco, Peru
2024
Mapa Textil is an itinerant textile residency in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, created by Milagros Colodrero and Natalia Codega.
In 2024, I joined the residency, taking part in seminars, workshops, and exchanges with master weavers from different communities.
Through these encounters, I explored ancestral weaving techniques, Andean textile semiotics, and the relationship between textiles, agriculture, and the festive calendar. Learning directly from local weavers highlighted the knowledge held in traditional textile practices and how these continue to evolve, be shared, and passed on through generations, despite the lasting effects of colonization.
